My NBA 2k12 game keeps freezing up.

Ok so I've had NBA 2k12 for my PS3 for a month or so and yesterday I tried to play but it froze at the part where it says "Loading settings" which is right after you press the start button. I tried restarting it a bunch of times but it kept doing the same thing. I looked on the back for scratches but I didn't see any. I tried cleaning it but that didn't work either. And usually when a disc is scratched or too dirty, it will freeze at random times. That isn't the case for me. It always freezes a few seconds after I press the "start" button which is after the intro video. Anyone know what may be wrong with it? I think I got a warranty but I just wanted to make sure there is nothing I can do before I bring it in. TIA
By the way, I tried starting another game to see if it was a system problem and not a game problem but the other game started up normally.

Look on the front for scratches, that is where all the data is. I had a tiny one on a used copy of 2K11 last year.

Ok, I had this same problem with 2k10 on the 360. It would hang up when it loaded the NBA Today settings, but after 30 seconds or so it would would un-freeze and the game was fine. Have you tried waiting it out for a minute or two?

Yea after restarting a few times, I tried waiting for way longer than 2 minutes and it stayed frozen

I just looked and it doesn't look like there's a scratch on the front. The thing is, the disc has been in my Ps3 since the last time I played it so I don't know how it would've even got scratched.

I think if you aren't signed into the playstation network when you get into the game, you should be fine. I think it was an issue with the game that they can't figure out why it happens.
Once you are in the game, you can sign back into the network and it should be fine. Not sure if that is your problem but it's worth a try

try completely turning off the wireless internet adapter to your ps3 and starting the game. if that doesn't work then completely delete all of your NBA 2k12 files from the ps3 hard drive.

Having the exact same problem. Started about a week ago. Anybody got it working yet. It's gotta b something weird if it's freezing up at the exact same time.

It froze on me when I hit the "home" update after pressing start. As usual though, I just wait 30 seconds and it goes on.

Ya that wouldt work.
I just deleted everything containing nba2k12 and acting like I just got the game. Worked out fine
