I'm pretty sure all youth hunts are over.

I would have to pull out rules and regs to be sure.

If you're in an area that has muzzleloader this weekend then 17 and under can hunt with any gun that's legal during regular season. If your area is archery only(like area 2) then youths have to use bows. It'd help if we knew what Area you were hunting and if it's WMA or private land.

When you say legal gun, do you mean just Muzzleloader? Or say using any thing, for example: .243 to whatever the kid is using legally.

If primitive weapon season is open in your area, youths 17 and under can hunt with what ever they want.

youths 17 or
younger may hunt either-sex deer
with any legal weapon during the
Primitive Firearms Season in each
deer hunting area

Either-sex is defined as male or
female deer. Taking or possessing
spotted fawns is prohibited.
It is illegal to hunt or shoot deer
with firearms smaller than .22 caliber
center-fire or a shotgun loaded with
anything other than buckshot or rifled
slug. Handguns may be used for hunting.

Well that's silly. " Hey Junior! Come sit on the stand with me so I can pick a doe off with my .270"
