The documentary is based on the death of a young football player at J.H. Rose high school in Greenville, NC.
I coach at Rose's cross town rival and have experienced first hand the precautions and adjustments in order to try and eliminate serious injuries due to concussion syndromes.
I believe it airs Sunday night on CNN for anyone interested, and I certainly will be tuning in for various reasons.

What precautions and adjustments have happened?

Everyone on the team must take a pre-season concussion test. The test is mandated by someone brought in from someone outside the program.
The test is taken by every player on site and whoever does not take the test can't practice until they make it up.
Along with the pre-season test came the in season precautions. Everyone whether it's a coach, trainer, ad, or player started taking concussion symptoms more seriously than they were maybe ten years ago.
We are currently puting an emphasis on strengthening the neck muscles. This can significantly help prevent concussions caused by hard falls that result in the head snapping back and hitting the ground.

most states have adopted that if/when an athlete shows concussion like symptoms he/she is prohibited from re-entering the competition, or the next practices/games, until cleared by a team doctor or head athletic trainer, in writing.

We have the same procedure here in NC and our school is lucky to have had outstanding team trainers the last two seasons
And adding to that, Rose (school that the documentary focuses on) has an excellent trainer right now and both schools are benefiting from ECU's excellent athletic training program

Dr. Seagraves spoke in the documentary. He was the ER doctor when the young man was brought into the hospital, not breathing. Dr. Seagraves son played football for us
