I haven't looked around in seafood markets. But I know they're 5 bucks a pound at Sammy's restaurant in BR. Had some a couple weeks ago.

I did the same thing Friday night and while they're very yummy, I must be a fatty because I was still very hungry afterwards. Crawfish simply doesn't fill me up. I don't think I'll be getting them at Sammy's again because I just spend too much money going home hungry.

you sure you had the 4lb platter? you may have had the 3lb.

it will also go down a bit. dont look for a platter of crawfish to fill you up. you should know this.

i usually don't eat crawfish until i can find them live pretty easily and boil them myself .. people up here were paying upwards of $4.99/lb boiled new year's day weekend ... i like to boil crawfish with friends .. buying them boiled makes me feel lazy and ripped off ..

I don't think I've ever bought crawfish already boiled, I enjoy cooking them as much as eating them. As for eating them in a restuarant, Hawk's is the only place I've ever done that because they are 10x better than the next best place.

i used to eat them here at sammy's every once in awhile .. but i found them to be small and flavorless for the most part .. i like snot running out of my nose when i am eating crawfish ... i too enjoy boiling them as much as eating them .. a great excuse to drink beer ..

I'm not sure about boiled but my mom was looking at getting some live and she said pretty much everyone in New Iberia/Lafayette is asking $3.25-$3.50 a pound. My little brother has a friend that owns a pond and he said he doesn't expect them to go down in price or get bigger until mid February.

Live are running 4.19 - 4.39/lb in BR right now. I boiled a sack on Friday. They were small but pretty tasty with good fat all up in em.

I remember going to Camp Bayou Corne and buying them for .10 a pound. This was before anyone sold them in BR and pretty much before pond raised crawfish.

I wait until mid March or even beginning of April. I don't mind paying a bit these days but I refuse to buy small crawfish.
