im hoping hes the starter(hilliard) ,but unfortunately with all the depth we have at RB especially with hill coming in (if they dont redshirt him) ,mcghee may be the odd man out the backfield, i could see him doing something similar to Josh Reed if his hands are good

I have not seen such a ridiculously stacked backfield. I think any team in the country would take any one of our top 4 running backs.

Someone would say not Wisconsin, but i am sure their coach touches himself while watching Kenny Hilliard highlights.

If you noticed this season, As ware started tailing off and being unproductive, his playing time was diminished and the other running backs started getting a lot more. I don't think there is some "start ware" mentality with the coaches as you seem to believe. The running backs were handled well this year. We have a stable of them and I think the coaches did a great job of rotating them. The "starter" really doesn't matter if we run a rotation similar to this past season next season.

this is exactly true...it really doesnt matter who runs out there for the first play of the game. All of these backs will get their share....I do kind of hope to see more of Hilliard and Blue this year from what I can see of them this year.

I say we go to a 32 personell and just hammer teams with a fb and 2 backs, then 3 plays later, sub in 2 more fresh backs and pound them for 3 more plays.

I really think Ware was nicked up by the end of the season. Plus Ware is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield which should come into play more with Mett behind center.

Nothing boring about the offense we ran the first 8 games. 22 personnel with shots over the top with a dominant WR beating 1-on-1 press-man coverage continualy off of PA thanks to a run-game that got the job done.

Miles wanted the C-Gaps defined and the ability to max-protect, which is why we ran the 22 a lot, but this year, I think we'll trust our tackles & our backs on blitz pickups, which coupled with our upgrade at QB will allow us to run a little more variety in formation while still producing in the run-game.

The receivers will step up, the backs are going to get better, our line is going to be better, & our QB will be better.

None of this is hyperbole. We'll be better. If our scheme advances & adjusts based on that improvement, we'll match that with a great defense & improve from last year. We weren't far away at all.

We can get it done.

EDIT:

RE: OP thread, I think Hilliard & Ford will be your Top 2 backs next year. When Hilliard needs a blow, Ware will go in. I see Ware leaving next year for the pros, & Hilliard & Ford will be back with Hill moving past Blue.

Right now I HOPE it is Hilliard and Ford. I was so pumped about Ware early in the year but now after his suspension he came back and played like crap. What the hell is wrong with Ware.

Ford turned the corner and started fighting for yardage instead of just falling to the ground after contact or anticipated big contact. But then Ware who had been a beast to bring down before had only 1 or 2 hard fought get more than you should runs in the remaining games. Strange. Hope Ware can return to his pre-suspension style.

Ware's type of violent running causes a lot of ware (lol) and tear on the body. I think he was knicked up in the back half of the season.

Ware was Miles' Hester, until the weed smoking suspension. No more.

Kenny Hilliard now has the chance to be Hester, and with more size and speed. If Kenny performs, Kenny will get the rock and the start.
