Here's an analogy I can't stop thinking about since the BCS title game: Davey replacing Booty in the bowl game (Georgia Dome) vs Ga. Tech in 2nd half and Lee NOT replacing Jefferson in 2nd half of BCS title game.

Saban made the call to replace Booty with Davey at QB while Miles did nothing...... I was at the Georgia Dome and I was very optimistic and elated with the change. LSU went on to dominate the 2nd half and win! We've been a top tier program ever since.....

Who knows what the future holds for LSU football but Miles unwillingness to replace Jefferson with Lee could have major consequences for years to come. It was the worst coaching I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. It's unfortunate that the entire nation saw this as well.

Maybe LSU football will recover and we'll look back on this as a one game screw up/melt down. However, if LSU begins to play 2nd fiddle to Alabama for years to come we can all look back to the 2011 BCS championship game as the beginning of the end of our possible dynasty...

And for those who never thought of Ala. as our best current rivalry over the past 10 years (with Ark. a close 2nd) you now know why. Alabama is going to be the team to beat until Saban moves on. I think we all know this to be true whether we admit it or not. Just look back at our last game for reference.

My parting shot: I think it's time for Miles to learn from Saban and become a better coach! That hurt to write and read but that's the way it is.

I couldn't agree more. Especially since Miles has never beaten Saban.

If you recall the leaders on that team begged saban to replace booty. Saban did it reluctantly.

Learning from your opponents does not necessarily indicate that you are inferior to them.

Something that gets lost in that game is that Brandon Winey also dressed out in the second half and shut shite down

Maybe some of the players begged Miles to replace JJ. He didn't do it happily.

You guys must not remember some of Sabans qb debacles at LSU. Awesome selective memory. He was MUCH more stubborn than anything close to what Mikes has been in releasing Davey in a wide open passing game. Cost us 3 games in 01 before he finally figured it out.

I agree. Apparently Saban learned something from consecutive losses to Miles.

I've seen no one come forward to say this. Reporters at half time in the peach bowl reported seeing the players talking to saban going into the locker room.

Maybe, maybe not. But if they didn't ask for JJ to be benched then they are as gutless as their head coach, you know, the one who quit on them.

It's not a flame. Maybe some players did go to Miles (behind closed doors and only those players know), but if not, then two things:

They either expected Miles to play JL like he said he would and they apparently expected it by their post game comments, or the players were ok w/ the status quo like Miles was in the 4th.

So just maybe.

And the receivors went from dropping perfect passes to making one handed off balanced catches.
