We took an inshore charter out of lafitte, and we had so much fun catching reds. We kept thinking about how awesome it would be to be pulling them in from a kayak. We are new to kayaking (team ascend), and are restricted on how far we can go because of time limits. Kids are in school from 8:30-3:30 in baton rouge. We will only be able to fish those
times m-f. Does anyone know where we can go?

Reggio is probably the best around chalmette.

I've caught reds out of Bason's Marina (no marina there anymore) in Cut Off. It is a little less than 2 hrs.

Tried searching how to get there without much help. Tips please? The stories I just read seem very promising though, thanks for the help.

Eta....I found out.

Launch at Joshua's in Buras. Start fishing. The end.

How wet do you get in those things cuz when its cold you and go to Myrtle Grove and catch all you want around the camps

Or launch at the "Goose Bayou bridge in Lafitte. Paddle into the Pen, start fishing as soon as you can either way

My best advice would be somewhere off the side of Hwy 56 in Chauvin...or maybe somewhere on the side of the road in Pointe aux Chenes...but both of those are 2+ hours away.
