Poem from a friend of a friend who lives in Baton Rouge

Just got this poem today from someone in Baton Rouge through a friend of mine in SLC.


"The Tigers eye is sharp and keen
it attacks its prey through the air supreme
its bulk is large, its defense strong
no question #1 is where they belong,


but what pray tell is the coaches plan
to bench their passer and instead start a man
who could run the ball but he couldn't pass
can you win the big one with a one man cast?


will only the ground game meet the test
surely coach, this is all in jest
what will you do when you risk your pride
and play before the Defense of the Alabama Tide


no one has yet run against the tide
not even you when you tried to run inside
in just recent weeks did you learn nothing before,
do you remember Coach Miles, your run failed to score.


so now its time, the big game is at hand,
on to the field comes the marching band,
the whole world watches as you take the field,
anxious to see the new plays you will wield,


but the crowd is aghast as they watch a rerun
same plan as last when the job wasn't done,
you're trying again to run in the middle
were you also in Rome while playing your fiddle,


the world is in shock as it waits for your move
the run doesn't work it would seem to behoove,
you to bring back Lee who won all your first games
and add a little dimension, not more of the same,


Coach Miles paces the field with a smile on his face
and in front of the world he's falling from grace,
the whole world knew quite early in the game,
if he stayed with the run,,,, and its really a shame,


On the bench sat a chance, he'd proven his skill,
but the plan wouldn't change so he's sitting there still,
Not a clue in Miles head that his loss was assured,
to take to the air, to him never occurred,


if there were a trophy for 'as dumb as they come'
the award would be easy for there could be only one,
one man to step forward on his face with a smile,
and that could be only the Tigers Coach Les Miles."

If he wants to claim it he can right here. I know his name and have his email but he may not want to claim it.
