In the 13 games that we played this year, how many points were scored by special teams and the defense?

I read somewhere that we had scored over 500 points during those games and I was just wondering since I know HB ran some kickoff returns and we had some funbles/interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Off the top of my head:
Oregon 7 FR
Kentucky 7 FR
Florida 3 (After Wing's penalized fake punt)
Auburn 7 P6
Georgia 7 PR
Arkansas 7 PR
Ole Miss 7 P6
West Va 7 KOR

That's 7 TD's and 1 FG - 52 points
Am I missing any ????

So roughly 448 were scored by the offense out of the 500 total we scored..

Off the top of my head there were 8 touchdowns scored by defense and ST. Would've been 9 had Wing's TD not been negated by one of the dumbest rules in football.

I think you missed one of Brooks' pick sixes. He had two as I recall.

This is one of those things you can't definitively quantify because there are more scores by the offense that were easier to obtain because of the field position that the defense and special teams put us in. You could try to assume that normally it takes "x" number of yards to score and back out a percentage of points scored based on how far the offense had to travel to score.

I'm too lazy so I'll just go with what I saw and say the defense and special teams had a hand in 15-20% of the points scored by the offense.

Thanks for the response. I was just curious after I read that we had scored over 500 points this year. I forgot that Wing's had gotten called back. All and all, we had an awesome season this year!!!!! We had a bunch of playmakers from every aspect of our team!!!
