Why doesn't LSU recognize the 1908 and 1936 national championships?

Since the records go back to the late 1800's, the Ivy League hows many of the early championships. Alabama claims include many of their "minor" titles. Why doesn't LSU include the '08 and '36 #1's?

BC we don't want to be like Alabama and call ourselves champs for every good football season.

BC we are not alabama. read bama's media guide and you will laugh your arse off on how they come up with the number. 61, and the ones from the 70's on are fairly legit.
