I decided to take a look back and see what their total numbers as LSU QBs ended up looking like and how each guy did as a starter:

JJ career (39 games)
390/663 (59%) 4,733 yards 34TD 20INT
359 rush 1,014 yards 12TD

TD on 5.1% of pass attempts
INT on 3.0% of pass attempts
TD on 3.4% of rushes
TD on 4.5% of total touches (pass attempts and rush)

JJ as starter (30 starts)
367/616 (60%) 4,408 yards 31TD 19INT
302 rush 801 yards 9TD

Average game: 12/21 147 yards 1TD 1INT 10 rush 27 yards 0TD

TD on 5.0% of pass attempts as starter
INT on 3.2% of pass attempts as starter
TD on 3.0% of rushes as starter
TD on 4.4% of total touches as starter

JLee career(38 games)
304/570 (53%) 3,949 yards 31 TD 21INT
30 rush -181 yards

TD on 5.4% of pass attempts
INT on 3.7% of pass atempts
TD on 5.1% of total touches

JLee as starter (18 starts)
200/408 (49%) 2,870 yards 23TD 17INT
27 rush -178 yards

Average game: 11/23 159 yards 1TD 1INT 2 rush -10 yards

TD on 5.6% of pass attempts as starter
INT on 4.1% of pass attempts as starter
TD on 5.3% of total touches as starter

LSU: 33 points per game with Lee as starter
LSU: 31 points per game with Jefferson as starter

*that ppg figure does include non-offensive scores*

What we figure out is Lee was more efficient at producing touchdowns when he touched the ball at LSU. JJ completed his passes at a much higher rate than Lee.

JJ averaged 37 more rush yards than Lee did (27 to -10) while Lee averaged 12 more pass yards than JJ. So we end up with a 25 yard per game advantage for JJ.To me that shows that Jefferson's "mobility" wasn't nearly as valuable over the course of a game as Les seems to think it was. I'd rather have a QB who can pass and leave the runs to the runningbacks.

I think JL has had to live with 2008 long enough. Most players don't reach their stride until they are juniors. So how about just compare the last two years.

Comparing the last two years seems more appropriate... I especially do not believe that Lee is the same qb now that he was during that god awful freshman yr

I think you might also want to include the sacks each took and how often per pass attempt. I think I saw that on another post, and it suggested that JJ was sacked a lot more than Lee was.
