RAT Squad, whats up with this?

Not sure if its German.....Watched War horse So i have more respect for this now. LOL.

Does it diminish our chances with Howard and also our Florida pipelines?(I used that term loosely)

I know Avery was his. Plus he was working on some others.

he was da passing game coordinator. you know that carried some weight with the recruits, especially after the job he's done the past two seasons.

Florida is where he recruited.
Won't hurt with Avery, but I think that we might be out of it with Tracy Howard. Haven't heard anything, but he said in an interview that Gonzales was the only guy on staff he knew at all.

Find it hard to believe he hasn't talked to Miles, Chavis or Cooper.

It hurts us for now but a WR coach won't shut the door on a CB

It was in a Rivals interview that Howard had been recruited by Gonzales but Tracy said he didnt really care about his relationship with him personally bc he was not going to be his position coach and he was more interested in the contact with Cooper and Chavis.

Its not going to hold any bearing on Howard.

I think LSU losing Gonzalez is a very good thing if we can get in the right hired gun recruiter to take his place.

He has recruited decently well.

Miller
Randall
Boone
Gore
and helped with Wright

Not bad really.
Not great though.
I would rather a recruiter with Texas ties. Just easier to get guys from Texas than Florida to LSU, especially with A&M in the SEC now.

He would be my choice. Has experience in Texas and proven track record.

This.

I see his leave as positive. Now LSU can get a impact coach at the position who is a lights out recruiter. That position is LOADED with great CFB coaches/recruiters. Gonzo is partly why our staff kinda took a step back when Porter left, we weren't getting MAJOR OOS bluechip recruits like Montgomery, IMO. He wasn't a terrible recruiter but nowhere near what he was expected to do when he got here.

Gonzo was the initial contact Howard had. But since then, it should have no bearing on his decision here. Just as long as Cooper/Chavis stay.

Dunn would be great. I met him when he was at USM and played golf with him a few times. He is a straight shooter and dude looks likes he could still play. Talked to him about Deandre at USM and he said most talent he had seen but worst attitude and practice habits. Said he hoped he would go pro so he wouldnt bring the other WR's down.

So what came first, the CHICKEN or the EGG (assuming this or some other egg has already been laid - ie, is his replacement already in the pipeline?)

With no personal offense intended to either " Chicken" or " The Egg"!

I agree on Dunn. Id also like to see the wr coach from FSU come here. The guy has kicked arse when it comes to recruiting.

At least when Gonzo leaves we won't be seeing his infatuation with 5'9 WRs anymore.

We'll actually go back to recruiting what LSU has had success with the past 10 years, big WRs. Never understood this dude's fetish with small WRs. Especially in a power offense like Miles runs.
