I just re-watched and noticed how horrible HB7 played last night...

Horrible missed tackles due to strip attempts and picked-on in coverage...He really is feast or famine.
Let's hope he makes big plays next year time after time as he did this year...otherwise he's almost a liability out there.

Tennessee and Alabama agree.

you're a bigger man than me ... I couldn't stomach watching that abortion again.

The fact that he isn't a great cover corner is the worst kept secret in college football. And yet, we continue to put him in 1 on 1 situations. He's a great nickel CB.

Why would you do that to yourself?

I think his Tweets about the flu were true.
Dude did not look well on the sidelines before the game started.

mathieu isnt in the top 1000 of reasons why we lost

I re watched as well. #60 on the offensive was getting drove, Alex Hurst was getting drove, Linebackers were average, Missed sacks, Ford tippin, using ware on the sweep, JJ being JJ, Gameplan/play calling. BAMA was smart they saw the mismatch with their tight end and our linebackers. They didn't go after claiborne once,,,,just kept picking on mathieu, simon and taylor.....

I agree he isn't why we lost, although he had mistakes that attributed to multiple scoring drives for Bama...
But you're right, Les is reason 1-1000 of why we lost. We just have to live with HB7 giving up extra yardage when going for the strip, and try to hide him in coverage.

Bama never let him be in position to make any plays that he excels at. He never got to AJ on blitzes, They never threw a screen to the receiver he was guarding. They BLEW UP his weak spots by making him tackle in the open field and cover smash routes. And for insurance , they never punted to him where he could actually get a return going.

Simon should have played more. #7 isn't our #2 cover corner.

All of those reasons come down to personnel, and preparation. In other words, they all fall on the HC.
There were so many things wrong last night, the team was just unprepared and the packages were horrible, never changed.

I think this entire Honey Badger bullshite has gotten him way in over his head. He's trying too hard to live up to the name instead of just playing football sometimes

My opinion of TM7 went up last night. He was constantly called upon to play to his weaknesses and he tried his best. His strengths were game-planned away by Alabama's OC, yet he tried his best. When it was apparent LSU needed a big break, he fielded a risky punt rather than take a fair catch in the hope he could make something happen, even though it was likely he'd get nailed. He got nailed. But he held onto the ball and it took about 6 guys to bring him down. I give the guy a lot of respect for how he played when it became obvious LSU wasn't catching fire.

Well we hyped the madness. Man if Claiborne comes back but if he doesn't the secondary will have questions.

You can't blame Mathieu at all imo for going for strips. It was he that created the necessary spark in our last two games. He saw that the offense couldn't do shite, so as a leader he tried to make a play to get us back in the game. You can't play normal conservative D when your offense can't move more than 6 yards in a series.

You are the obvious casual fan who talks out of his arse. You probably heard this at work or something and thought it made sense.
So many idiots roaming this board.

I saw a lot of bad tackling from the team trying to strip the ball. We were desperate to get good field position for the offense.
