I have AT&T dsl. ( i know)

I have some crappy Westell router/modem combo.
Also have a Netgear WGR614.

Can I connect the netgear to the router/modem combo so that the Netgear is sending out signal as well? If so would I connect it through another Ethernet cord?

you have to set the combo into bridge mode so that it turns off the router function and acts only as a modem.

also, some combos (i have the SMC SMC3dgn that i tried to do that on) that won't let you do it because they're super fricking shitty.

Thanks.

Might sound stupid, but should I even do this?
The Netgear just looks so much simpler to deal with, and I could get it a bit closer to my room

yeah, usually those combo units are pieces of shite that transmit a terrible signal.
