Are we doing it wrong? Does it need to be scrapped from our vaunted playbook? What needs to happen to get rid of the option? If it fails continuously in a game, do we keep the option at top of our playbook?

Yes. Jefferson isn't and never has been an option QB. Option QBs have to be smart and make good decisions in a split second.

Because Jefferson sucks worse as a passing QB than he does at the option. And of course he is the only quarterback on the planet.

I think Bama was more than ready for it. They had 3 guys string out anytime JJ went to pitch it. Ford had to juke two defenders to make anything out of it. Not happening.
