Day trip to NOLA on Monday: suggestions?

Monday's my birthday. I got effed out of both Saints and kind of BCS tickets. Had good plans, now all I'm left with on this historic weekend is a day trip to revel and come back Monday--not bad but oh what could have been. I need to be back to BR around 5 or so on gameday but headed down very early.
Any suggestions on where to go? Will all the activity be in the quarter? Looks like the the Big Game Bash is tomorrow too. I was thinking of squeezing both in and that's probably it. Any parking suggestions? I can only imagine like Mardi Gras but less street closures. Didn't live in LA in 04 or 08.
Any other suggestions?
I can't believe it's tomorrow. I want taste the Gump tears. Again.
TIA

I think the weather is supposed to suck on Monday.

I would go today. Atmosphere will be at it's peak today/tonight... Will be too crowded tomorrow and fan bases will be more tense/serious.

Leave early in the morning. Get off at Poydras...head to the Hilton or casino parking garage. Like others have said, downtown, the Quarter, Poydras will be like Mardi Gras day.

Monday's my birthday.
There are several restaurants in town, open on Monday, that have great lunch specials and 25 CENT martinis! Commander's, Antoine's, Murial's are 3 that I know of. Walk ons on Poydras near Loyola will be a hot spot, also nice Sports bar in Hyatt. If you want to get into the quarter, go to Oceana grill.
Happy Birthday and NCG!

Are they doing all the ESPN shows from Jackson Square still? What is there another set?
