... these people make me feel so smart. They say some of the most idiotic things I've heard about lsu and bama and the BCSCG.

It makes me want to pull my hair out. It's not like I'm going to step in and argue with a total stranger so I just listen and laugh.

Anyone else have similar happenings?

Makes the rant look like Bill Belichick

try coming west of the rockies....after just spending 2 weeks in BR/NOLA, coming back to the land of BYU & Boise State is really depressing. Most people here don't even know when the game is & wouldn't know who was playing if it wasn't for me. I saw an email years ago (I wish I still had it)about the difference between northern football and southern football....ALL TRUE!!

I see a lot of people sporting LSU gear who couldn't find the stadium if you dropped them at the corner of Highland and Dalrymple.

I spent some time in a 'burb of Denver last year. Went out a few times around town, people there kinda knew football, but all of them backed down as soon as we got into a discussion about college football. They were all CU fans but said that the SEC was untouchable.

Anyway, point is that outside of the South no one really is as adamant as it about us, kind of for the same reason no one in America cares about soccer. When you suck at something, you lose interest.

I spent two months in upstate New York this past summer. They know nothing about college football, nothing. They are pitiful.

Very true!! At least in Denver, they have a (semi) pro team, so they have some interest/knowledge. I'm just so tired of people who drink the kool-aid & tell me Boise State could beat any SEC team in an SEC stadium. They seriously have NO CLUE that it's not even the same game!

Yeah, tell me about it. My brother-in-law is one of them. Couldn't name 3 guys starting on our offense. And I gotta go to the game with him. But I'm not gonna complain too much since the father in law got us tickets lol.

Well, here in SOCAL, college football begins and ends with USCw, of course. It was really refreshing earlier in the season when they all kept their collective mouths shut due to embarassment or lack of interest since the conversation was not about their team. I actually had a USC clad fan hold a door open for me and told his wife to make way for the LSU fan. The recent ESPN talk about the 2012 pre-season rankings has them all cocky again. With all the shite I slung over here after 2003, I don't want to hear anything about an AP title, should we lose.
