You talking on the half shell? What makes Acme "meh"? Chimes "ok"? They're raw oysters...on a platter...probably a platter very similar to the platters used by other restuarants. What's the distinction?

Acmes are higher priced than just about everyone else, so in your logic if all things are equal, they should not be priced as such or have a better product

You have never gotten oysters that just seemed like they were attacked coming out of the shell? Never had any that were extremely gritty?

I definitely think there is a difference in quality from one place to the next

A dumb oyster shucker(bartender) can F up your oyster. But, in BR you're getting gulf oysters. Only diff is temp they keep them at and how fresh they are.
Places like Chimes goes through tons of oysters, so I know they aren't sitting in the cooler for 2 weeks before they found their way to me.

Chimes everyday happy hour oyster special is hard to be with a cold brew IMO.

Happy hour 4-7 35 cent Raw. Everyday. Dollar off drafts.
Think I might have to start the night with a dozen now

I like Parrain's. (when not over cooked. They have a good butter sauce).Stroubes are fine, though.

Parrain's are good, but at $15 a dozen, I'd rather go to Stroube's and get them for $6 a dozen. Plus that red stuff they put on top is fire!

I had some pretty good chargrilled at Mike Anderson's a few months back, but can't remember if they run a special on them too.

Parrains are half price on Tuesdays. If you plan on sitting in the bar, get there early because the place gets packed quick.
