Didn't we get the #1 safety in the country? Was he a difference maker? Also, #1 QB in Alabama is currently committed to Fla Sate; that is a bigger loss than a safety isn't it?

No because Winston will never set foot on campus. About the only thing he did for Bama is save them a reserved ship.

Did he have the kind of hype LC does? I didn't follow recruiting much when we signed him.

He had hype, but no the kind of hype Collins received...primarily because Collins is from LA and Bama was not in the race for Loston

He will be better next year. I think he is a major reason why LC don't come. Loston maybe healthy and starting next year.

I think a lot of times, safeties and LBs can get overrated because they can deliver a really crushing tackle from time to time (Jeff Luc, Craig Loston) but don't have great field awareness and consistent playmaking ability.
Unfortunately, Collins doesn't seem to be that kind of safety.

You need to check the film on Loston again. . .he wasn't just a head hunter in high school. Check his interception in the Under Armour game.

Yea man Loston was a.beast and a very good cover safety. I am not saying this because we didnt get him but Loston was a better safety coming out of high school than LC. I still think LC is a better pure athete and probably a little faster than Loston but he doesnt seem to have that killer instinct to me. That is why I think he would be a better offensive player

I have been saying this for a while Loston is still going to be a beast. Next year you want give a crap about what LC is doing.
