With the dominance of SEC football, and the lack of a true nat'l championship system (this is the biggest complaint I hear about college football from yankees; of course, I think their real complaint is that their teams suck and cannot hang with the SEC), is college football becoming nothing more than NASCAR? Will it soon be looked on by the 'elite east coast' ( )as a 'redneck southern' sport?

Interesting take, but with the popularity of the NFL and the Big 10, I don't think so.

Yes, Big 10 is still popular, but watch what happens when the BCSCG is won by the SEC for 10 years in a row.
And it is the popularity of the NFL that I'm talking about. The EC yankees love NFL, but they don't get college ball at all. Their excuse is there is no true NatC, but I maintain it is because the best team they have to root for is Rutgers or BC.
