He's a Pac 12 lover and knows those teams very well. It's why he calls them by their 1st name when announcing. I personally like Musberger and have listened to him for my entire life but his Pac 12 homerism really does get agravating.

some of these guys open their mouth without engaging their brain. Much as i hate to admit it we are having to play again the toughest opponent we have faced and for all the marbles. I don't think anybody but us can beat Bama and vise versa.
