Matt Flynn to Cowboys? Romo traded to Denver?

Cowboys need wholesale change. As good a QB as Romo is, there is a systemic problem in Big D and mentally, for all concerned, the best thing for this team is to let Romo go so he can get a fresh start and get away from Jerry Jones.

Flynn would be a great replacement and if the Cowboys have the intelligence to shore up their defense and sack Ryan as their DC, the Cowboys would be in better shape and Denver, with Romo, would instantly settle the Tebow experiment and greatly improve the team.

Elway would approve.

*edit: as a former Tyler, TX superprep, his acceptability factor to Cowboys fans should be high.

Why would Denver trade for romo when they could sign Flynn outright?

yeah, they need a new GM, too bad for them the owner won't fire the current GM.

in my opinion, Romo would instantly quell any debate in Denver re: Tebow whereas Flynn would not.

That doesn't answer why they would trade for him instead of signing him as a FA.

I think too many people on here are prisoners of the moment with Flynn. Yes he had a great game yesterday but that's hardly proof that he will be a very good NFL quarterback. He could easily be the next Kolb, Scott Mitchell, Derek Anderson, the list goes on and on. Romo's proven he's a good QB, I think the problems in Dallas are bigger than just Romo but you may be right that him getting away from Dallas might be the best thing for him.

i don't think Romo is THE problem at all. I think he's pretty solid, but I do believe there comes a time when change at the top is needed in order to get a team to move forward. Dallas is stuck in a bad place and needs a shakeup.

I agree to an extent. But why make that shake-up via getting rid of one of your only bright spots. And Romo might be better off on another team as far as legacy goes, but there's not too many QB's in the league that can manage the pile of shite he's had to work with all season. Some very talented guys with zero brain power and a weak as shite offensive line. I know there are a few guys that could, but they aren't gonna be let go anytime soon and I'm not sold on Flynn at all.

Just a typical dukkev drive-by shooting.

I agree with all that. Romo gets a lot of criticism but I think he's a very good QB who helps that team win a lot more than they would with someone else. Everyone always says to get rid of him but who you going to replace him with? QB's don't grow on trees

Romo is better then Schaub ( best case scenario for Flynn). Why would DAL trade down in talent?
