BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana State head football coach Les Miles does not get angry often, but he did when he noticed that some players put on extra pounds during a week off following the Southeastern Conference Championship Game on Dec. 3 and warned his players about eating too much during their Christmas break. "He got mad after our last break because we had a lot of people out of shape and overweight," senior safety Brandon Taylor said. "He was getting on them hard. He was letting them know that this is the biggest game that you're going to play in so you want to be in the best shape."

"I checked some weights," Miles said. "There were some leftover turkey and some stuffing that was kind of reminiscent of the meals that were eatin' over the break. But there was a nice, healthy sweat acquired, and that will happen again." LSU practiced Tuesday and is scheduled to work out today before an off day Thursday. By then, Miles does not expect to see any more stuffing.

I love the nice healthy sweat quote. Doesn't sound like a big deal but interesting. And I couldn't care less if it's already been posted.

Yeah, read that one. Some Gump put it on the SEC Rant trying to stir something up. I have no doubt that Les and all the coaches will have worked that all off before the game...

Doesn't worry me. I'd say "running as punishment" has worked in our favor this year.

If the weight issue were a true problem, Les would not bring it up to the media.

***This

Miles just had a "nice healthy sweat" quote in his pocket that he wanted to use.

It was a concern of mine since the team has been so well conditioned and a step ahead of the other team. Hopefully this advantage continues Jan 9th.
