I am considering buying a large quanity of 22LR shells. Is there a considerable difference in quality between the lowest priced and the highest priced shells? It seems back in the old days there were quite a few times i would have trouble with 22 LRs not firing.

for .22? No, not really. I always bought the 500 rd box from Wal-Mart.

No worries. I would've replied the same on either one.

It depends... Some 22 semi auto handguns are really picky with the ammo they'll reliably shoot. A lot of them like the higher volocity stuff

I have 3 .22LR weapons- Marlin model 60, 10-22, and a Mark III pistol- I have found anything Remington to cycle them all well. I once bought a brick of "regular" CCI...since it was the only thing in stock...and it won't cycle any any of the above 3 reliably.

I believe that the Remington Golden Bullet ones have worked the best for me- I seem to be able to get that stuff in 500 round bricks pretty easily- all the guns like it and it seems to be pretty accurate.

I can't realy recommend one brand over the other, but you should get a brick of bullets vs. buying a box or bucket of loose rounds. Seem to have more missfires with the loose packed rounds.

I buy the brick of .22 remington. Used to be federal but the quality went down so I swapped. I don't have any issues.

in my 10/22 :
CCI mini mag - most accurate so far
Remington 500 rd box - dirtiest shooting round
Winchester HV 500 box - the least accurate

all cycle fine. never had a firing problem either. will try wolf and federal ammo soon
