It is possible SM could be leaving early for the NFL draft with two years of eligibility remaining. Some scouts are predicting SM will receive a first round grade due to the weak class of DE's. Although SM may be concerned about the freak injury that occurred last year, I think he would be best suited to play at least one more year..And not b/c of any bias. Would we still be able to maintain the high level of play from our DE's if SM leaves?

Probably better suited to the Rant.

But as for recruiting related, it might help us grab Mario Edwards...

Rant material indeed.

On him leaving, understand last years injury could be a scare but he could benefit immensely staying another year.

Lavar Edwards is only a junior. He has been playing pretty damn good this year. Edwards/Mingo starting, Rasco playing a lot. I think we'll live.

Has the rantard that's been tweeting Sam 5 times a night "I'll still be your bestie if you go pro early" posted in here yet? Dude is getting the players focused on the NFL and being his bestie right now like they should be.

Thought you could not declare for the draft unti after your jr. yr? He is listed as a sophomore on the roster. What gives?

he's a redshirt SO, so that makes him eligible.

Wow, didn't know that factored in to draft. Has any LSU player done this before? I don't recall this.

I doubt he goes. Now, if he dominates in the MNC game, probably.

If you're three years removed from your high school class graduation, you are eligible to enter the draft, whether you're a junior who never redshirted or a sophomore who did.

Dude needs to put on 20-30 lbs of mass or he's going to get dominated by 300+ lb tackles in the NFL.

While I'd love to see him wreck havoc another year, its time to get paid Sam. LSU will be fine, he needs to do whats best for him.
