First off, just let me say he is one of my favorite LSU tigers. The dude has an unbelievable motor and is as skilled as any player on the team. He could be a first round pick easily...

That being said, does anyone know what happened w/ the coaches? Why didn't he start vs. Georgia & Arkansas? This made no sense(to me, at least). And why does he all of the sudden seem to want to make the jump into the draft. Not saying he wouldn't do well--he reminds me of a young jevon kearse..but why would he want to leave LSU early? We have a good shot at repeating next year IF he stays..And i think he knows this...

Yeah

I could see NFL teams wanting him b/c he is so young and they could develop him into premier talent i guess

Only played little over a year. I don't think he should go unless he is a top 10 pick.

Big Sam is expected to go in the top half of the first round, you can't get much better than that. Can't blame him at all.

McShays first mock had draft eligible juniors in it and it did not include SM in the first.

yeah and with the way #99 from San Fran is playing teams are really gonna want him now! The same type of DE and he is having an awesome year! I believe that guy really helped Sam's Draft status!

Develop? Guy is hands down the best DE in college football right now, and thats while he's still recovering from a knee injury.

If he is a solid early first round selection he should enter the draft. He should return to continue to improve if he is not expected to go that high.

Chill. I know he is already hands down a beast..Im just saying they could get him even BETTER

And that's downright SCARY..The raw talent for this guy is off the charts. Should make a great DE for someone

I ain't mad son. I just think its funny he's just hitting the draft radars. There is literally nobody even close to him as far as DEs go this year. He would be a top 10 pick as soon as he declares.

He should go imo

He'll be 22 next year

The earlier he goes the better chance he has at getting 2 or 3 big contracts

The guy has already had one collegiate injury he has come back from.

If he is healthy at the end of the year and a 1st or mid 2nd round pick he would be pretty smart to make the jump.

No reason to risk a second injury.

Then let me rephrase, it had draft eligible players.

With the new rookie salary scale for first rounders, especially the top 15 or so, it would make sense to declare early if he is projected that high. Rookies won't make Bradford/Stafford money in the first contract. But the 5th year option plus the second contract will be big bucks.

He and Brockers are nondoubt 1st rounders if they come out this year. As much as LSU fans love them, they seem to underestimate their complete freakdoms.

Yeah, i was really surprised how well Brock transitioned to a nose tackle from being a tall lanky DE. Gotta give mad props to the coaching staff for putting weight on him and teaching him how to be such a disruptive DT. Reminds me of Haynesworth(albeit not as big) the way he's so big but plays down. Very good player
