It's a nice change of pace from your usual Italian place.
I'd throw Mangola's in SW Hosuton in the lesser known spots that are pretty good. I love the mussels in white wine sauce.
Auntie Pasto's. The food isn't traditional italian, but it's worth going just for the desserts. The to die for is terrific and the sin pie is almost as good.

Try Stella Sols midtown. Its a Texas Italian fusion concept. Very good.
