Anybody do it before? what's a good, reputable sight? Also how do you go through clearance? Thanks

I've made a few phone calls for an older friend of mine that is frightened about this new "internet" thing, but he wants to buy a gun. What has to happen is you have to contact the seller and make sure they have a copy of the ffl that you are having the gun shipped to. You cant have the gun shipped to you unless you have an ffl. If the company doesn't then you contact the ffl holder and have them fax a copy to the seller. Place your order. Then hopefully go pick up your gun.

I do it all the time. Gunbroker is the premier site.

Yep. Nothing to it. Gunbroker, buds gun shop( few years ago). You basically pay them up front and they ship it to whichever ffl holder you wish. All pawn shops have their ffl. The charge is usually 15 bucks. Whoever you use will call you when it comes in and you go get cleared to purchase. The only way I do this is when I find a sale on a gun that's too good to pass.

Gungenie.com
They do the FFL paperwork for you. You search for the gun you want, and if they have it in stock, they give you the price at 3 or more local dealers. You pay a deposit. They ship the gun, you go pick it up and pay the balance.
Its awesome.

Of course, you'll have to pass the instant background check at the dealer's before taking possession of the gun. Gun Genie has been a good friend for me. I've also bought a few guns online from private individuals without any problems. If buying from an individual and not pushed for time, I like to make the purchase w/ a USPS money order that can be tracked, just in case there's a problem.
