Do any of you remember Lamont Roland?

He was a basketball player for LSU under Dale Brown. Anyways I'm sitting in a bar in Kentucky and his sister is my bartender and we are shooting the breeze. Just wondering. Anybody recall?

He played for John Brady, on the 2000 Sweet Sixteen team. Came from a JUCO I believe, never played for Brown.

yeah number 43 i belive, I think he played in John Brady era, always thought he was underappreciated

He was a big part of the 99-00 team and their run in the NCAA tourney...he was the man

I actually saw some kid wearing a Roland jersey at the Marquette game. His buddy was wearing a Brian beshara jerseys. Pretty cool to see that.

I get Maurice Carter confused with Maurice Williamson.
It is amazing the talent level John Brady brought back to the Tigers. When Brady was on, he was on fire. When the Tigers were off, they were too inconsistent. Anyway, it is Christmas time, so no need to rehash ole coaches and such.

Lamont was a badass perimeter defender.
LSU would have had a much better '01 season if he hadn't gotten hurt. As it was, Ronald Dupree, Torris Bright, CTIII & Brad Bridgewater just couldn't handle the load by themselves...if memory serves me correctly.

I think he was the junior college player of the year, was really good on that sweet 16 team, and I think it was the Bama game the next year where he messed up his knee, I was at that game and it was very sad to see that.
