I finally got to chit-chat with (my co-worker) Sheila Mathieu, RN about TM7's Heisman experience & awards circuit week. Here are some random excerpts:

-She said when ESPN would drag the boys away, she'd find downtime with the other parents and really got to know all of them, but specifically RG3's parents. She said she found out they were New Orleans natives and at one time lived just minutes away from where she lives now. But the military took them to Japan (where RG3 was born) and eventually to Texas. She suggested, in a what-could-have-been moment, two of the best playmakers in the country probably would have grown-up in the same neighborhood. Especially, as a New Orleanian, I thought that was pretty cool.

Me: Ok, I saw you in Orlando & I watched all of Tyrann's interviews on the Disney boardwalk, and then watched him win the Bednarik award as the best defensive player in the nation, and saw you beaming with joy in your Tweety Bird suit...
Sheila: That was LSU gold! (laughs) Everybody thinks I was wearing yellow.
Me: Must've been the TV. Anyway, two days later, you & Tyrone are in New York watching your son being recognized as one of the nation's best football players up for the Heisman with legends like Herschel Walker & Marcus Allen there. Now how did that compare to just a couple of years ago, when you & Tyrone are King & Queen of Zulu's 100th year, and you were being honored in trips to Atlanta, Birmingham, and flying all across the South with ceremonies & balls with majestic pageantry?
Sheila: Oh, the Heisman is 1000 times bigger. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Zulu experience, but this was national & real. I know I am really not a Queen. That was fun make-believe, but to have people say your son really is the best defensive player in the nation, and possibly the best overall player....the Heisman is 1000 times bigger.

She said TM7 made brothers for life. "It was just a short time, but he made brothers for life, especially with Trent. They all got along instantly and shared something special nobody else did. Oh, and Trent is like this (knocking on the counter)...He is built like a rock..like granite or marble or something."

She said she would notice men in suits following her & the other parents on the boardwalk. Oliver Luck told her they were agents. She said it was ridiculous how many of them there were that would try to come up & talk to them or hand out cards. She was quite put-off. She said the Heisman security was better. She said, at the NY hotel where they were staying, you needed a code to give the elevator operator to go up or down. They had an escort when they were leaving the lobby to fend off agents trying to talk with the parents. She was quite clear about not talking to any of them, and kind of looked down on them as "money-grubbing strangers".

Tony Dorset is "hilarious" and kept them laughing at a dinner, and she said talked with Herbstriet, and he was very nice, & said he looked like he was 6-4 and had "blue, blue eyes."

Anyway, thought I'd just pass these stories along for anyone interested.

I really wish someone would take one of these agents out one day to send a message. Nothing but hanger-on leeching mother frickers.

Hey freak, thanks for the great story. This is not a knock on TM7. He is a great athlete, but his parents put him over the top! Wish more of us (parents) were in our kids lives like his.

good read. Thanks for sharing. Be interesting to watch TM7 and TR inter-act during the NC game now.

That gave me goosebumps.

I forgot TM7's dad was Mr. Big Stuff in Zulu - no wonder he has such flashy suits!

Keep in mind that the twitter account where a lot of bad quotes were coming from is a fake. He really needs to do something about that, because it was/is certainly a believable fake account.

So this basically confirms it. Trent R was slinging the rock and was being supplied by men in suits who gave them special code words to use when they went up the elevator to make the deal?

Great so when TM7 nails TR for a loss on a play he will offer his hand to help TR up. This would show great sportsmanship.
