Every state university does the same thing. AT least they are making them pay for the tickets Jindal is a huge Tiger fan, and I know he will go. Rep. Robideaux quoted in the article is married to my cousin. "Hello, Joel, I've always liked you dude!"

Does anyone really have a problem with this? Think about it, do you have a problem with the elected officials who have tremendous control over LSU and their budget, etc. getting tickets to the game?

Maybe they should sell them on the open market and donate the money to LSU. You could save at least 2 people's jobs for another year if you sold all the tickets for market value.

Wonder where they are getting that money for the LSU budget.

Without a doubt. A lawyer/politician is the worst human being walking the face of the earth.

Yeah I'm just going to up and run for office. Sounds like a simple solution, can't believe I didn't think of it.

Legislature's are gonna get theirs. Why wouldn't they? It's not exactly a surprise. I laughed when people were in outrage over Obama letting his illegal uncle stay in the US.

When you have the power, you'll use it. the haters.

I never got free tickets. I always had to pay for them. I was glad to pay for them and go to the games. They changed the policy in the 70's and stopped free tickets. We paid for 2 for home games. Saints tickets were paid for also, not free. If any additional tickets were available , we had to pay for 2 additional also, not free.

They have to pay face value for their tickets

Since the legislators don't get their tickets via priority points like the LSU faithful do, if the faithful get the few allotted that way, the legislators aren't having to pay $1,000's like the rest of us. This is a really lame argument!!

And with the money they get outside their official salaries, face value is nothing to them anyway.

I sort of agree with half of your statement.

1000's like the rest of us?

I have two things to say.
1) people are retarded spending the money I've seen people offer for these tickets.... impulse buyers, typical of many Americans.
2) lot of people spending money they dont have to spend, also very typical of many people in this country.

I just refuse to give some person the satisfaction of paying them 5-6-7to times what they paid for something.
ESpec a ticket to ballgame that i can watch at the same time for free.

All you clowns arguing it makes sense to give tickets to those determining funding for the university exemplify everything that is wrong with politics in this country. You have become so used to bribery being the common practice that you are condoning the university bribing legislators. It's abhorrent.

Agreed. But this is like saying water is wet. This is the least surprising thing I have read in a while. Especially in Louisiana. Did you really think it would be any other way?

I remember back in 2007, one of my old friends was the daughter of one of the state senators. He bought two tickets for his two daughters, who had no interest in the game whatsoever. They went and left at halftime to beat the crowd to Dragos. I ended up getting the ticket stub.

And your U.S. Congressman and Senators have the right to buy tickets at face value.

Really? The legislative branch refuses to exercise the courage to get rid of colleges in this state (there are too many) so that the remaining can be properly funded. LSU has to bribe its own legislators in fear of more cuts - which just happened. Corruption.
