an academic casualty?

The complete 180 that Miles did with JJ and JL was more easy to accept when it seemed that Lee was not fulfilling his academic requirements. Now that he has been able to make the grade, and that story is dead, how do you explain Miles putting him in at the end of each game to take a knee? None of this seems warranted and none of it seems healthy from a recruiting standpoint. i.e......send your son here and let him get us to #1 and then watch him take a slap in the face role after that.
I am not questioning the fact tat Miles is a good Coach, and I have been one of the "Miles must have a good reason for this treatment of Lee" people, but now I cannot really see how this can be explained without it looking really punative to Lee. Maybe the BCSNCG will be a redemption for all of them.

It's time to let it go and enjoy the ride. This has been a phenomenal season. It really doesn't matter anymore, just get the damn win in January, and it's all over.

We don't know the entire story. It could be a number of reason from who gives us a better shot to win, who turns the ball over least, attitude, could still be grade or class issues, team meetings, practice....

We just don't know everything. Chill out.

What a fresh and innovative topic for discussion you have presented.

I don't think I am in need of a "chill" at this point. I am not all worked up about this and I am all about beating Bama and winning another BCSNCG with whoever at QB.
However, I think that if my son was considering LSU this would be a legitimate question in the back of my mind.

You would question your son considering a championship elite program like LSU because one player didn't get the play time that YOU think he deserved? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

Cause winning championships, developing character, and getting a quality education just aren't enough.

This subject has been :beatdeadhorse: but its simple JL threw two picks and we would not have beaten Bama without JJ...

The truth may be that we may not beat Bama again without JL making some throws ie. 2010 game...

Bottom line the coach :fearthehat: knows more than any of us.....

So let it geaux........

I'm sure all the QB recruits that dream of being a back up will definitely take LSU off their list.

Do you really think any QB recruit will look at this and think "I don't want to go to a top program because one QB got benched for another"?

The only people that care about the whole Lee getting treated unfairly are the ones that have some unhealthy admiration for the guy. The starter came back and took his job, it happens all the time in football. Move on

Bottom line is that this discussion will not be fruitful without all the facts, which none of us will likely ever have. If you had a kid who was being recruited, sure, you'd try to find out the real scoop. Otherwise, you're just jerking off.

I wonder why these people don't cry about the hundreds of LSU players out there who never got to step on the field?

I mean JL got playing time. But damn, haven't y'all seen Rudy? Don't they get many players never even get to play. They are called back-ups. JL was a back up.

Obviously, you missed the entire point of this topic.....and it is a legitamate topic now that the academic question is dead.

Also, quite obviously, your parents did not produce a super duper academic spawn.

I agree with you. People act like you can't raise a question on a message board because Miles is an unquestionable authority figure (that worked out well for Penn State). People also act like you cannot enjoy and appreciate a 13-0 season without also wondering "wtf is going on with JLEE". The two can co-exist. I'm not going to celebrate the victory on January 9th any differently no matter who is taking the snaps. Going from winning games, to one very bad game, to never seeing the field during meaningful playing time is something to be questioned. Sending him out just to take a knee? You can say what you want about Miles, that was a shite move.
