the hide from my deer went bad and it would be another couple months before I get him back. He has had my deer since October 2010

Anybody had this problem before? How long does it take to get another hide?

Yeah, you definitely should have had it back before this hunting season. Especially if you brought it to him last October, which is at the beginning of the season. He should quit taking animals if he's that backed up.

Bad? WTF? The only way it would go bad is if the taxidermist left it out and forgot about it. Fire that arse and get your rack back ASAP! To get another hide, one has to go out and kill another deer and chances are it could be a doe that he screws you with.

FIRE that arse NOW! Normal turn around time is about 8 months.

I have had them take 8mos to a year. THe guy I use does exceptional work and stays backed up. I have zero problem with it taking that long and would use him even if he took longer then that. Now, the hide going bad is a different matter. What does he mean "went bad"? Did his freezer go out? If he replaces it and gets it done right, then no harm no foul, IMHO.

The key, IMO, here is what kind of work are we talking about? A great mount taking over a year is no problem. A mediocre mount taking that long is not good.

You boys saying y'all got your heads back in 3mos....damn, that's quickness!!
