At least according Pitt message boards that are tweeting players' reactions. That is a little weird considering some of his assistants left him to reunite with Rich Rod at Arizona.

@BryanDFischer: Reports out of Pittsburgh that Todd Graham is taking the Arizona State job. Wow. 4th head coaching job in six years.

This hire seems to have come out of left field.

thought that said Todd Grantham for some reason. Ron Cooper was about to be up for yet another DC job.

[quote]Pitt's players were informed in a statement from Graham that was sent via text by assistant athletic director/football operations Blair Philbrick.

"I have resigned my position at Pitt in the best interest of my family to pursue the head coaching position at Arizona State," Graham said. "Coaching there has always been a dream of ours and we have family there. The timing of the circumstances have prohibited from telling you this directly. I now am on my way to Tempe to continue those discussions. God Bless. Coach Graham.

That guy must be a hell of an interview. He's taking baby steps up the coaching ladder.

Living in Houston while Graham was the coach at Rice, he is the world's biggest prick and is universally hated by people in Houston. That has been the word on him since I've moved here. When I say everyone I mean everyone hates that guy. The radio guys just dog the hell out of him and they are all pretty cool guys who get along with everyone.
