"All the sales and inventory data that have been reported since January 2007 are being downwardly revised. Sales were weaker than people thought," NAR spokesman Walter Malony told Reuters.

How perfect that Yun is still at it.

The MLS database only includes home sales listed by realtors, and excludes homes listed by owners, providing a very narrow view of the market. And because more people are using realtors to list their homes instead of selling them independently, realtor-listed sales numbers have become artificially inflated, said Yun.

In addition, some of the assumptions NAR used in calculating its data have become outdated, since they were based on 2000 Census data.

YOU try buying a car without a car salesman and see how that comes out for you. Now is a great time to buy OR sell a car!

My Dad bought my sister's car on EBay and it worked out well, but he bought it from a dealership, so it only half counts I guess.

I bought my 4 Runner off of Craig's List from a guy in Gonzales.

Turns out he lived right next door to a childhood friend of mine who I stood in his wedding a few months later.

Drives like a dream.
