The northern teams may not practice outside in a ton of game situations, but they practice. Their practice time focuses mostly on drills and it shows. The fundamentals of those teams are often ahead of LSU early in the year.

We shouldn't schedule SMU because they don't have a baseball team

But seriously, why let that little detail get in the way?

You're right, they do practice but I recall seeing a great deal of sloppy play from these northern teams early in the season.

that was like 4 years ago. Michigan was 20 games under .500 last year.

BRING BACK THE WINN DIXIE CLASSIC in the Dome!

except the Dome is a terrible venue for baseball. I'd rather see us play in Houston in the Minute maid classic (or whatever it's called).

Amen. Any event in the dome is a fun event to watch. Except maybe motorcross.

I thought you bought tickets to see LSU, not their competition. Am I missing something?

I agree with this...but only for opening weekend, after that, I want to see my team get tested by good opposition.

While I think the non conference schedule sucks, the ncaa committee has already proved that sweeping a top 8 national seed in non conference means nothing. Winning ball games against top flight competition in the SEC will do us right.

With few notable exceptions the early part of season seems to be set aside to play northern teams. There are no northern powerhouses and usually when they arrive in Baton Rouge its the first time they've played outdoors all year.

Not a good way to prepare for a grueling SEC schedule.

Good point Holden. Just a few words for today. Didn't Coach Maineri miss out on the post season last year for scheduling enough cream puffs ? We went like 14-1 to start the season and then we learned how mighty our team was when we flopped in the SEC ? Paul needs to wake the frick up. Yeah..he's won a NC but one great season out of 5 ? for real ? Call me a retard if you care. I don't care..but I think paul needs to wake this program up..and I mean this fricking year !!! No reason why we aren't contending every year. He and Trent Johnson must have the same fricking agent.
