JJ held on to the ball too long. as usual. When you're backed up that far, you gotta get rid of it

slow dropback, slow read, no delivery. Gee, what a surprise. That's a three step drop. Has to be quick. JJ needs to reads some books on the subject.

Well JJ's downfall has always been holding on to the ball for too long. So if he does that aganst Bama, then yeah it could happen.

Maximum protection....9 guys blocking, 1 split end in the route. It's a quick 3 step drop, rhythmic pass. The split end was either covered or had not made his break (JJ does not throw guys open).

Regardless, with a max protect, one receiver, 3 step drop...the Coaches were trying to avoid a safety with the play call. And JJ managed to hold on to the ball and get a safety.

To me that is unacceptable. His brother must be AWESOME!!!

<You honestly think thats a slow dropback?>

He doesn't even have his arm in throwing position. He's hopeless. He'll never, ever see a down in the NFL.

What do you consider having his arming in throwing position on a dropback?

forward elbow up, facing target, arm cocked or at least ready to be cocked. Face it, he's not a throwing qb.

Has anyone in this thread ever taken a snap in organized football?

You must be watching a different video than me. His elbow is up, the ball is high and ready to be cocked, he got to the top of his drop quickly. You can criticize him all you want about holding the ball too long, but to say his drop is slow is just ridiculous.

And QBs dont face their targets during their drops.

That's actually more of a 5 step drop.

The issue I have on this play is the "max protection" that is suppose to be there. We had 9 guys blocking 5 and 1 of their guys got back there in 3 seconds.
