How to keep jambalaya warm for party?

I'll be attending a progressive dinner Christmas party Saturday and will be making jambalaya for the entree portion of the evening. The party isn't at my house, so how do I keep it warm?
I was thinking of putting it in a crock pot. Would that work or will it continue to cook the rice?

How about putting it in the oven (low) until you leave.
Wrapping it in towels and put it in an ice chest for the trip.
Back in the oven (low) at the house.

Get some aluminum pans 12X16X4 with lids if possible. Heavy aluminum foil will do if you can't find some with lids. Keep in the oven at 170 degrees till ready to serve. Keep sealed up tight so it don't dry out.
Throw them away when done. Cheap and easy.

Crock pots were made for this. Just put it on low and you will be fine. Put the jam' in while it's hot just before you leave, then turn the crock on low when you get to your friend's house.

170 seems awful hot to keep something 'warm' for a party. I would expect it to overcook and dry out.
I'd just drop it all in a slow cooker and keep on warm. Supply a ladle and make sure there are bowls/plates and you're done.
I've seen the large pans used before, but only if there is too much for a large slow cooker, and I wouldn't go near 170 degrees.

I do this daily. ICE CHESTS. Stays within a few degrees of the temp you load it in, up to 24 hours before it starts to just get slimy.
