Pretty good. He's probably waiting till he gets a break from school. Texas is down, he wants to play for a contender and I think he'll see through Mack Brown's bullshite, but he'll probably like Manny Diaz a lot, dude's a great DC

"After traveling to Austin, Edwards will take trips to LSU and Oklahoma and said he may even travel west to check out USC."

Mario Edwards not totally sold on Florida State

I think he'll visit at some point but I don't think we'll get him. I could see him going to Texas but I'd still bet on FSU at this point but honestly nothing would suprise me with him at this point. I'm not a big fan of this style of handling a recruitment. I know it's common but I just don't prefer it. Either you're commited or you're not. For the people that bash schools and coaches for their actions sometimes in recruiting, they should hold the kids to the same measure of accountability. Big time kids like Edwards hold schools hostage and betray their word just as often as coaches do. This also applies in a small way to the way Torshiro Davis is handling his commitment. Not as aggregious as Edwards but still not the way I prefer a kid to handle his recruitment. In my mind these kids aren't commited and the coaches should recruit them as though they're not.

Obviously a great football player and I would love to get him at LSU but he seems to be a bit of a headcase. Article says after Oklahoma beat Texas he considered Oklahoma... and other little bits about how he is choosing a school just sounds like has a bit of the big head. Might not be to much of a team player.

If you are the nations #1 recruit, it makes you a little bit of a head case just due to all the special attention he's been getting. Its not going to be fsu, as he doesn't want to be in his dads shaddow. If we get an official visit after texas, he will commit to lsu to play next to the freak.

I really don't mind how these KIDS are handling their recruitment because they are still KIDS trying to make a big decision. paid professionals with 10-20+ years of experience should be held to a MUCH, MUCH higher standard than kids.

I agree and I probably shouldn't have even post it. I hesitated and hit submit. Also the article was written by someone else other than Mario Edwards so it isn't neccessarily the whole story either. Just an observation and like I said I would love to have him as a tiger!

Texas people think they can get whoever they want when they want how they want....so they ended up with David Ash and Case McCoy as quarterbacks....

Why is that quote funny?

Well ,on the one hand there is an unranked and floundering FSU and on the other hand there is #1 LSU winning the 3rd BCS in a span of 8 years (and gaining a bold reputation as DL and DB school)

The choice of FSU is therefore so obvious that he finds it funny.
