I'm really hoping for an edit without somebody pointing it out. It would make me feel better.

i don't think the existing contracts were the main reason ESPN was pimping The Rematch. I think it was more directly related to the potential viewing audience and ad costs when comparing LSU-Bama II to LSU-OkieSt.

If U$C had been in OkieState's shoes, I think ESPN would have been pushing very hard for LSU-U$C and poormouthing an all SEC BCS title game rematch.

I think it's simply that Bama/Saban is much more attractive than OSU/Gundy/(likely LSU blowout) when it comes to selling commercial time.

It is a HUGE win, also consider all the hype they brewed for the first game, now they get the ONE that counts. CBS must be feeling a little jipped since they pay all that money to broadcast SEC games and ESPN will air the one that matters most. Not to mention all the favors they'll have to repay after being allowed to have the first game on primetime by ESPN

yep, if you replace the name Alabama with Arkansas or Oklahoma State with Oklahoma in this whole scenario there is no rematch.
