It reflects well on football in our state of La. for some many of our players to be from the state, it says alot about our level of football played from youth all the way to high school...

It's talent spread evenly. The Honeydick is just a bonus.

Louisiana has always had stellar football talent. Back in the day we lost out on players like Kordell Stewart, Marshall Faulk, Warwick Dunn, Ike Hilliard and so on and so on.

Countless great players LSU missed out on before Saban and now Miles put a fence around the state. That's why there's no reason to think LSU won't be a great program for years and years to come.

It shows the total incompetence in hiring head coaches starting in 1987.

I also love this. It's great to be able to snag guys like pp7 and ware but Its a little added bonus when guys like tm7 the freak and Reid are representing towns in la especially because that really helps lock down the home state in future recruiting. When a big recruit from la sees what someone else from their school can do at lsu it is the best recruiting tool IMO

Im pretty sure Mississippi hold or held the per capita title for a long time. Louisiana has been a solid second in per capita NFL player production for a while. Also Louisiana has 1.6million more people.

and you would be wrong. it's the other way around.

"The most impressive showing is by Louisiana, which ranked 25th in total population but has the sixth-most high school players in the NFL. The Pelican State has the highest per-capita rate of NFL players (1 in 65,720) followed by Mississippi (1 in 76,883) and Hawaii (1 in 80,769). By comparison, California's rate is 1 in 175,163."

Too bad Louisiana doesn't have higher rated teams in the national polls. Then again, THAT doesn't really matter
