Studying for finals and came across this passage in one of the books im reading, and i immediately thought of this LSU defense
'In his chapter on purpose and means in war Clausewitz discusses various methods of obtaining the object of the war. One way is what Clausewitz calls "the negative aim." It is, he said, "the natural formula for outlasting the enemy, for wearing him down."'
i know football is in no way comparible to war, i just thought it was fitting for this years team. hell, it can be said about our offense too

Funny how you say that football isn't comparable to war. It was invited as a war game implementing strategies for offensive campaigns and defensive maneuvers.

Upon the fields of friendly strife
Are sown the seeds
That, upon other fields, on other days
Will bear the fruits of victory.
ATTRIBUTION: General DOUGLAS MACARTHUR, Reminiscences, p. 82 (1964).
MacArthur wrote these lines while superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, 1919–1922, and had them engraved over the entrance to the gymnasium.
He was speaking of Army Football so, yes, having been to war myself, I would say football is a form of war...
