Watching the commercial for the new Mission Impossible movie
Posted by DrunkinTiger on 12/2/11 at 2:16 pm00
got me thinking. Why can't the writers come up with a plot that doesn't involve the team being set up or disavowed? Wouldn't it be cool to see them on a mission without a mole or being chased by the government?

might as well watch NCIS if they did that...

This mission just got a hell of a lot more impossibler.

Were they set up in the second one? I don't think they were.

That was the main idea of the TV series.
"Your mission Dan/Jim, should you decide to accept it" or words to such effect, with a brief explanation of the goal of the mission. Following this is the reminder, "As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions."

Not sure how I feel about Simon Pegg in this movie. Seems too serious for him. Even Star Trek had its humorous parts.

MI:4 can't be much worse than MI:3.
