My reason for not wanting a rematch

Lets analyze the two possible outcomes of a potential Bama-LSU rematch.
1. If LSU beats Bama again, nothing new will be proven. LSU already beat Alabama, so there is no new outcome. It would really just reassert that LSU is clearly the best of the SEC, but it wouldnt prove much more than what LSU has already proved all season long nationally-wise. Yes, LSU is declared the National Champion (Wahoo!), but if OSU, Virginia Tech, and/or Stanford win their respective Bowl Games, they will each have a very valid case as to why they should have been in the BCSNCG instead of Bama (Auburn fans can relate to this). However, this makes the BCS look terrible, so at least there's that.
2. If Alabama beats LSU, it proves that Alabama and LSU are virtually equal teams, and that they are the two best teams in the SEC by a ton. But, like before, it doesn't really prove anything nationally. Other teams would have less to complain about because of a different result than before, but no one would know how other teams would have fared.
The BCSNCG is supposed to prove who is the best team in the entire country, not just one conference. Thats what the regular season is for, as well as conference championships. With a Bama-LSU rematch, this really isnt accomplished to any degree, especially since there will be no other teams from the SEC playing in a BCS Bowl (assuming LSU beats Georgia).
Just something I thought about, not really sure if anyone has posted something similar.

we are the only ones who know that, dont tell everyone.

My reason is this:
LSU goes through one of the toughest conferences in the nation and wins the SEC outright with a slot in the National Title game and their reward for winning the SEC is playing another SEC team.
The bowl system is set up to pit two teams that traditionally do not play each other.
I like how one of the TD posters put it: The only way a team can get into a BCS bowl is that they have to win their conference. A lot of stock is put into winning a conference championship and that is how it should be for the Title game.

Not being on here enough is not an excuse! You should stay on every waking minute!

It appears that is what most people think.

While Bama plays a much easier schedule and is rewarded by being able to avenge their only loss.
Nicely put Bishop.

Good points. It seemed like it was 99% chance of LSU-Bama, but I think OSU's chances have been slowly creeping up.
I still think it'll be us and Bama in the end.

Bama truly believes that they "beat themselves" on 11/5.
They want another chance to beat the team that beat them.
It's like coming in second at the end of a 10 mile marathon and saying "Can we start again? I wasn't ready at the gun."

The Bowl season has always matched up teams from other conferences.
How bad would it be for any SEC team to have a winning record and get to a bowl game only to have to play another SEC team? It is not fair to the fans who would not get to see the traditions of other schools. just my .02

Hey BigerTait;
Good points. Well written and right on the money! I guess if it were LSU on the outside looking in we would have a bit more of a valid point having lost on the road. However, keeping this thing in the SEC is not good for the BCS pundits.
This thing has been beat to death a number of times from various angles. Hopefully LSU vs ALA (if it does happen) will help speed up the process for Div1 post-season playoffs! Otherwise, I hope OSU gets an opportunity to play against LSU. Geaux Tigers!

The West and SEC titles will mean MUCH less (at least to me) if another SEC team (particularly one we already beat) can claim the BCS title. A conference champion should be immune from this.

Yeah. Been posted a billion times, but
was dead-on.
