If Georgia wins, LSU - Bama goes to the NC game and Georgia goes to the Sugar Bowl, the SEC stands to bring in an additional $12 million or so. That's based on the difference between having the top SEC team after LSU-BAMA in the Sugar ($17m payout) vs having them in the Cap One ($4.6m payout), and each SEC team behind them moving up a bowl.

If LSU wins, it will be either LSU-BAMA with the big BCS payday in the BCSCG, or LSU in that game and Bama in the Sugar.

Actually if LSU loses, I don't see Bama making it to the NC.

The BCS doesn't work that way. The second team gets about what the Cap One pays. The 3rd team would probably get about the same. They front load the first BCS team so they can keep the payouts to the various BCS conferences reasonably close.

Tom Ritter has been holding back for this opportunity to job LSU. I cringe whenever his crew is assigned to us, esp when it's AU and Bama

Sure about that? Not saying you're wrong, but they simply list the payout for each bowl and I've never seen anything that says that they adjust it. Not sure WHY they would adjust it; if a team makes it in, the payout shouldn't be predicated on anything outside of that.

As for the officiating crew, I was kind of opening that door without saying it.

For the 2nd team, yes. 3rd team is just a guess.

There is a ceiling to how much the second (and probably third) team gets.

I think it's around 4.5mil for the second team.
