With all the talk and all the anguish about giving Bama a do over against the Tigers, I was thinking of other famous "disagreements" that the losers may like to try again.

There was that little squabble between the British and newly formed union Called the United States. The British claimed that they were by far the better army, and what other arm y tha they were qualified for a rematch with the Americans?
One British soldier could be heard saying "The American militia were good, but we are gooder!!".

The patriot army was led by George Washington, and he proved to be a far superior leader than the British General Cornwallis. Cornwallis was heard to say " Washington is a very good leader, but a bit strange. I actually saw him eat grass through my field glasses!" When asked about this, Washington said " it gets me in touch with the battlefield."

Anyway, the British did think they were deserving of a rematch, and it did in fact take place, The War of 1812. We whupped 'em again. And how fitting that the final whupping was in New Orleans.

Ole Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise, if we didn't try to block 'em til we looked 'em in the eyes...

We blocked 'em once and the Tide kept a'coming...there warn't nigh as many as there war a time ago... we hit 'em hard again and they began a'runnin', down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico....

Can anyone think of any other famous disagreements that were potential do overs?
