If Saban had went the same route as Meyer did would we hate him as much as we do now.

I know Urban didn't go coach at UGA and he also took a sabbatical but I think he left becuase he knew he ran the team I to the ground and the future was dim.

I think of I am a gator fan I may still be a little upset about this after they won not one but 2 championships.

I think you're dead wrong about that.

Okay so let's say I am wrong which that's just my opinion no way we can prove either. But why would a coach leave a dynasty. Then go coach some where else. I know what the articles and ESPN is selling but that whole cam newton thing and looking at the deteriation of the program. I feel it may have been more than some chest pains.

What's your logic

I agree with you dude... urban knew he was done in the SEC with the lsu and Bama powers picking up coupled with tons of Florida recruits not panning out. Just my two cents

Maybe he just didn't enjoy coaching at Florida? Who knows what was going on with his family, in his house, every night? Maybe his wife/family were unhappy, and he just wanted to get the frick out of gaineville? It could be so many things. Maybe he just wanted a year off.

Seems most likely. The dude was in the hospital.

I think he should stay out of football, but that's not what makes these guys tick.

Meyer's awesome, but he runs a thuggish program. I think he saw his team wasn't going to maintain its success, pressure would be too much, and he quit when the quittin was good...rep still maintained. Everything he said was bullshite, why else would he jump into the same pressure at Ohio St? Florida fans should be melting down, and I love their pain. Quitting, and coming back the way he has is a step above something Petrino would do.

ETA: the way he's being deified in the national media is very eye roll inducing. Can't believe he's not taking more heat for coming back so soon.

maybe he wanted a year off? With the way they pkayed ladt year, he had already taken a year off.

The east is week now. UF should win it every year.

Yeah the way they played that year, he did take a year off. A year that he tried to take off before he was talked into coming back. And you could tell by watching him on the sideline he regretted it.

It's saw his presser and interview on sportscenter. Key quote.

" I goy caught up in the pursuit of perfection.". Then he smerked. He clearly didn't want to lose and it was causing a bad case of indigestion. No way this team thats less than 4 years removed from prominence should be suckIng the way they are. Each year they recruit the best players.

Also if you recall Florida was willing to give him a year off. That's when he came back right before eventually calling it quits

He saw the writings on the wall and didn't want to go down with the ship. He saw what Brantley looked like in practice ever day and knew he let his cash cow get out of town when newton left.

would have been interesting to see urban take over Ga., then would have been Ga. versus Fl. like saban at ala. vs. LSU, same divisions.
