It usually tracks the Harris poll closely though.

If true that's awful news for Bama.... shows where voters are headed in this all-SEC BCS issue.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The voters in The Associated Press college football poll are clear on which two teams they believe are the best in the country. LSU is the unanimous No. 1 for a third consecutive week and Alabama received all the second-place votes for a second straight week. The SEC West powers are on course for a rematch in the BCS championship game on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. Oklahoma State moves up to No. 3 on an off week, taking advantage of Arkansas' tumble from No. 3 to No. 6 after the Razorbacks lost 41-17 at LSU on Friday. Stanford is No. 4, just five points behind Oklahoma State. Virginia Tech is No. 5.

It all comes down to that Oklahoma St game. If they win, the voters WILL jump em over Bama. Without a doubt in my mind.

OSU needs some of these - and if Stanford is only 5 points behind OSU, then OSU is still splitting a lot of votes.

With Stanford's win last night, I don't see a way for OSU to make it.

just depends on what they want. voters aren't static anymore. just b/c Bama has all the 2nds this week doesn't guarantee shite next week

Naturalbeam, if ok st beats OU convincingly next week, the separation will increase there.

Read Matt's post. We need a combination of Okie St beating OU and Clemson beating VaTech. That's the winning combo, however unlikely it is.

That being said, I'm feeling more and more confident that LSU would beat Bama in the Dome. They are playing lights out right now combined with the home/neutral field advantage and turf to highlight our team speed means we win by 7-10 over Bama, IMO.

True, but OSU needs 1/4 of the 2nd place votes, and all of the 3rd place votes. Anyone who has Stanford at 3 and OSU at 4 (and a lot do, apparently) is forcing OSU to grab an extra 2nd place vote.

In the AP, Alabama is the unanimous #2. I know that poll doesn't count, but it's unanimous.
