On the Sports Reporters a couple minutes ago said that if LSU runs the table and ends up beating Bama in the BCS Championship and thereby having wins against four top three teams throughout the season, then LSU can make the case for being the best college football team in history.

Too early to start that discussion?

Wait till 1/9 at about 10:30pm. And, yes, it's a legit consideration.

Probably....but that's never stopped ESPN before. Honestly, I've never seen a team as dominant as we are and have such little hype surrounding them

if LSU wins out they'll have one of the best seasons in the modern era and the best in the BCS era

but they're not the best team ever

i will def agree with this. it's the bama factor. the national media wants bama to be as good as we are

I agree. It's impossible to choose the best team. I'll take the one of the top season accomplishments of all time, though.

If Bama, USC, or Notre Dame had done what we've done, the
media's focus would be on whether they were the greatest team in history. Book it.

We've kicked the ever living shite out of everyone we played outside of Bama yet when we're discussed its almost always a "yeah.....but"

shite we've probably been on upset alert more weeks than not

I think Vegas is the only place that truly respects this team

We've been discussing it for a while. It would be hard to give them the nod over the 95 Huskers. Still, I would make the case based on the ridiculous SOS that LSU had this year. Also, FWIW, if 95 Nebraska played 2011 LSU, my money would be on the Tigers.

i'll just keep this simple and say that 2001 Miami or 2004 USC would not have too much trouble with this LSU team b/c of their run Ds. and i'll try to lave it at that

if saban/miles tried more on offense when we played, i think there would be more hype around LSU (assuming we still win) and a rematch

Fair enough. 2001 Miami is a good choice with what they did to Nebraska. Gotta acknowledge the "*" with the 2004 USC team though.....

Perspective, I guess. Would be fun to see that offense line up against this year's defense though....
