Was traveling today and missed the Iran/Iraq War (aka the Iron Bowl). Did Gary opine on whether a rematch was justifiable?

They sucked Bama off he entire game. At one point, Verne sounded like he had a stroke, due to sheer excitement for Trent. They also both declared, a 25 yard run with a stiff arm was "a real Heisman run". They left out the late-in-the-fourth-quarter, chopped liver, shying from contact run defense they were playing, allowed a 15 yard touchdown to the third stringer on the next play.
So in short, yes.

in his postgame chat online, he gave both sides without overtly stating which camp he was in. He basically used it as a springboard to argue for a playoff.

He must have changed his tune, cause after the game, Gary said no rematch on Finebaum show. I still don't think it happens. Okie st will beat Oklahoma and the voters won't want to see a rematch. LSU vs Okie St

You do realize that Alabama and Arkansas fans think Verne and Danielson are solidly pro-LSU, right?

tonight on fifth quarter show he said his finebaum response was specifically aimed at a question about Boise State, which was undefeated at that time. But it sounded like crawfishing to me because of my purple and gold glasses.

Danielson does like him some LSU, but even with likely erectile dysfunction, Verne creamed himself on several of Trent Richardson's runs this year. Fact. I know his dry cleaner.
